Here’s what I’m working on now:
Here’s the idea:
It’s about a girl named Desi (that’s short for a really long princess-y name I gave her) who is kidnapped by a ninja called Raven (yes, I know that’s probably cliché, but I like the name, so I’m keeping it). She tries to escape over and over again as often as she gets a chance, but ninjas are really hard to fight, especially if you’re only a little girl. Raven comes to see her as having talent and wants to train her, but he is under a contract to deliver her to the man who hired him to kidnap her. So his dilemma is does he keep his contract and “waste” her talent or does he break his contract, which is unthinkable? And her dilemma is how can she get free and go home? Or is she doomed to be a prisoner forever?
I started this for Nanowrimo 2012 and though I won (writing 50,000 words in November) I am not finished with the story. The way things are going it’s going to be a series, but I’m not even done with book 1 yet.
And even though it’s about ninjas, it’s not about Japanese ninjas, per se, so I’ve decided I’m going to call them something else, but I haven’t decided what yet.
I may post excerpts or other things about it here later.
